On Wednesday, September 30, 2026, an awareness programme about the aim and objectives of PRANAM Commission was organized at the Kokrajhar Science College Auditorium. The event was held in collaboration with the Kokrajhar District Administration and under the initiative of the PRANAM Commission.Palash Ranjan Ahom, ACS, the Additional District Commissioner, welcomed all the guests and participants to the event. Explaining the objective of the program, Phanindra Kumar Bujar Baruah, a Commissioner of the PRANAM Commission, stated that the influence of the British education system has deeply impacted Indian culture today. As a result, the traditional joint family system is crumbling, leading to incidents where children neglect their own parents. To counter this, he emphasized that an educational policy rooted in good values and spiritual foundations has become highly essential for today's society.Another Commissioner, Jugabala Buragohain, described the various functions and procedures of the Commission through an audio-visual presentation.Speaking as the chief guest, Dr. Banabina Brahma, Registrar of Kokrajhar University, remarked that the core foundation of Indian culture is 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam', the ideal that the entire world is our family. In such a context, it is deeply regrettable that people are failing to look after their own parents. She noted a growing lack of moral values in households today, which affects everyone in the family, right from children. Therefore, the time has come to become aware and proactive about protecting our families by character base education and Sanskar activities. The meeting was attended by over a hundred individuals, including high-ranking officials from the district's Education and Family Welfare departments and other departments.
